I watched this movie today during my three hour stay at Kaiser...and I loved every minute of it. It left me wishing that I lived in the 1800's, where women dressed so feminine and adorned themselves so beautifully (in dresses!). I jumped out of my seat a time or two and also had to try so hard not to cry in front of all of the other patients in the waiting room a few times! I was especially moved by the ending, when I read that after the death of her husband, the Queen honored his memory by laying his clothes out every day until her death! How beautiful! At any rate, I have a strong(er) desire to honor my husband everyday, in the little ways that I can, to read this book (It's been on my wish list for sometime now)...
and sew a beautiful nightgown or two (or three).

i've wanted to stat a love affair with beautiful nightgowns for a awhile now. i had one while i was pregnant & loved it, it wasn't beautiful though. especially stretched across my preggo-ness. have you seen the ones at anthropologie?!
ReplyDeleteYes I have! They are so beautiful, and their robes too...but kind of short (at least all of the ones in the store were). I have been/am so tempted to but the pretty cotton and lace ones (they have them sometimes at Marshals and TJ Max)...but they are soooooo old lady/mumu! I think they could be excused for pregnancy though ;) Right?
ReplyDeleteyou could get one you like & tailor it to fit. if you find one on a good sale, it might be cheaper than buying fabric!
